Newsletter -February 2012-
Battalion Swimming: Well done to both the Junior & Company Sections who recently won the Battalion Swimming Gala Trophies.
Masterteam: Well done to David Chappell, Shaun Wilson, Scott Stewart and Patrick Foley who reached the Scottish final by ½ point. They now travel to Edinburgh on Saturday 25th February for the Scottish final. Winners and runners up would then go forward to the U.K. final in London. Good luck boys! You can do it!
Chevron: Copies of Chevron will be distributed after the mid-term break.
Pancake Tea: The Company will be having a Pancake Tea on Saturday 10th March 2012. Information enclosed.
Queen’s Men: 17 young men will be attending the Queen’s Badge Completion Course at Cullen on the weekend of 10- 12 February. We wish them well.
Overseas Appeal: Boys are reminded that the closing date for the appeal is Friday 9th March 2012. Reminder that boys must remember to put their names on the “jar of pennies”.
Inspection 2012: This session, the Company will be having only ONE Annual Display. All sections will be on parade on Friday 23rd March. The decision to reduce it to one has been a difficult one to make but due to staffing shortage, reduced number of Junior Section boys and the pressure of work for a number of staff. Rehearsal times will be announced in the February Newsletter. This will probably result in only TWO tickets per family. The decision has not been taken lightly.
Weekend Camp 2012: Reminder that the camp must be paid in full (£48.00) by 16th March. Pocket money can also be paid in. - maximum of £15.
Sponsors: Individuals and local businesses interested in sponsoring the Company are asked to contact A McIntosh. Spaces in Chevron, the company magazine and the monthly newsletter are available.
Ladies Dinner: The Annual Ladies Dinner will be held on Thursday 23rd February 2012
in The Coach House Hotel. Information enclosed. The format of the evening will be dinner, followed by a Beetle Drive.
National 5 Aside Football: Congratulations to the Under 15 Team who have reached the final of the Scottish tournament. The team now go forward to the Scottish final in Dundee on Saturday 31st March. Travel arrangements have still to be decided.
Design a Badge: All boys are invited to the Jubilee Open Day at Ballindalloch Castle on Sunday, June 3rd 2012. The Company Bugle Band will be performing at various times throughout the day. President’s & Queen’s Men will also be helping with various tasks throughout the afternoon. A number of adults will also be supporting the event.
As this is a one-off special occasion, boys in all sections are invited to design a Company Badge for the occasion. Clare Russell, Lord Lieutenant will be judging the competition and the winners will receive their prizes from the Lord Lieutenant at Ballindalloch Castle. The overall winner will have his design, which may have to be modified, commercially produced. All boys attending the event will receive a badge.
